AFTER work
Life isn’t just about the 9 to 5, here’s a taste of what I enjoy doing after hours
Teaching ui/ux design
ReDI School of Digital Integration is a non-profit digital school for tech-interested locals and newcomers in Germany. It was one of my favorite things to do in Berlin and I was a volunteer instructor there from 2017 – 2020. Here I’m pictured teaching the UI/UX Design class at Facebook’s Digitales Lernzentrum in Berlin.
KNOWLEDGE SHARING
When given the opportunity, I like to share some of the knowledge I’ve gleaned over the years. At this event held by Spire, a non-profit that serves to inspire, resource, and activate the professional creative and design communities, I was asked to share my experiences and learnings as a creative. Here I am speaking as a guest panelist at their event, Responding by Design, held in Los Angeles’ DTLA Arts District.
HACK like a girl
A memorable first hackathon, my team was awarded Winner of Best Business Idea in 2017 at Hack like a Girl Hackathon, where the theme was Travel. My team’s idea was a customizable web experience for travelers with pets. My role in the team was UX and Brand Designer, other team members included a PM, a FE and a BE engineer.
WORKSHOPS
& MEETUPS
I enjoy giving back to the community - I’ve helped to organize skillbuilding workshops and meetups in collaboration with professionals in the Berlin Tech community. Pictured here is a workshop on Effective Communication with Shivani Berry that I organized at N26. Click below to learn more about a Product Prototyping meetup at N26 I helped organize featuring Alexis Piperides, CEO of Proto.io and creator of Overflow.
illustrations
I enjoy doing quirky illustrations, hand-made type, paper art and hand lettering! Here are some samples of that:
• ZipRecruiter Characters
• Good Paper Greeting Cards
• Hand Lettering for friends
